  1. When you visit the Site, we provide you with the opportunity to subscribe to our newsletter distribution list by providing your email in fields posted on the CONTACT US or ISSUES WITH THE SITE pages. We then ask you to provide your country and, optionally, your name, job title, organization, and telephone number as part of the subscription process.
  2. When you send a message to ITSqc via the Site's ISSUES WITH THE SITE page, we ask you to provide your name, organization name, e-mail address, subject of your inquiry, and any information you wish to include in your open message field, so that we may communicate with you and answer your questions. Please also be advised that if you contact us by email or via the ISSUES WITH THE SITE page, we may keep a record of your contact information and correspondence, and may use your email address, and any information that you provide to us in your message, in order to respond to you.
  3. We may collect information about your interaction with the Site without identifying you as an individual (“Anonymous Information”), by using standard server technologies. For example, we may receive certain standard information that your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your IP address, browser and operating system type, and information about the device you are using (such as whether it is a mobile device or a desktop computer). We may use Anonymous Information for any purpose in our discretion. For clarity, Anonymous Information means information that is not associated with or linked to your personal information and does not permit the identification of individual persons.

    We may collect anonymised copies of the following information from you when you visit the website:

    • Technical information, including the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; and
    • Information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from the website (including date and time), page response times, website errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, methods used to browse away from the page and any phone number used to call our helpline.

    For operation and maintenance purposes, this Application and any third-party service providers may collect files that record interaction with this Application (System logs) use other Personal Data (such as the IP Address) for this purpose. We will only ever retain this information in an anonymous format, and only for as long as is necessary to inform ongoing website improvements. These improvements aim to optimise visitor navigation and overall site accessibility. This information is obtained through our site host 1&1 Internet, which does not use cookies for analytic purposes. IP addresses and browser strings are saved anonymously by 1&1 so that they cannot be traced back to individual visitors and so that visitors cannot be uniquely identified. As a result, we never retain information on visitor location or any other information that is not essential for functional site improvements.
  4. When you register or complete an ITSqc training course, we ask you to provide your name, organization name, physical address, e-mail address, and telephone number. We retain this information in our Training Database, along with the results of any course tests or evaluations that you complete.
  5. If you are a Candidate or Authorized Evaluator, we also retain records of your Capability Determination participation.

We may use the information we collect from and about you through the Site for any of the following purposes: (i) to operate the Site and to provide services to you, (ii) to respond to your requests and inquiries, (iii) to contact you and to communicate with you in order to respond to your request for additional information, (iv) to send you newsletters and updates, (v) to contact you in the future about our efforts, (vi) to notify you about important changes to the Site or our services, (vii) to review Site usage and operations and to improve the content and functionality of the Site, (viii) to protect the security or integrity of the Site or our organization, or (ix) to tailor the Site to your needs and the needs of other visitors.
  2. How We May Share Your Information. We do not sell, lease or rent the personal information you share with us on or through the Site with third parties. ITSqc may disclose your personal information to third parties only (i) as required by law or regulation or as we believe in good faith that disclosure of such personal information is reasonably necessary to: (1) satisfy any applicable law or regulation, (2) to respond to claims and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process served on us, (3) to protect and defend our rights or property and/or the rights or property of third parties, as permitted by law, or (4) to detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; and/or (ii) with our service providers that provide certain services to maintain and operate the Site or to help us deliver services to you.
ITSqc does not partner with an analytics partner (“Analytics Partner”) to collect Anonymous Information about how our Site is used. Our IT Service Provider Partner may use log files or other automated technologies to collect information about how many times you visit our Site, what you visit when you explore our Site, what parts of our Site you access, and what other Sites you visit before and after visiting our Site. Our IT Service Provider may also collect information about how users access the website through log files and the use of technical cookies. Such information may include standard information from your web browser (such as browser type and language), your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, and the actions you take on our Web site (such as the web pages viewed and the links clicked).   • “Cookies” are electronic files many websites place on a visitor's computer to store information that makes each visit to a respective website more efficient.

Our Cookie Policy explains ITSqc's policy regarding cookies. Simply put, we do not use profiling cookies on our site.
ITSqc uses reasonable administrative, physical and technical safeguards designed to secure the personal information you share with us. Regardless of the precautions taken by us or by you, no data transmitted over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you provide all personal information to us at your own risk.
ITSqc does not collect credit and debit card information directly and kindly asks you not to share this information with us when submitting requests for additional information.

ITSqc does use third-party credit card processors (“Payment Processors”) to process online as well as other donations to our organization. Please note that your credit and debit card information (number, expiration date, security code) is provided directly to the Payment Processor and is stored by the Payment Processor and not by us, and as such, it is important to review the Payment Processor's privacy policy and terms of use to understand their information security practices. The Payment Processor may share all or some of the following information with us so that we may reach out to you in the future about our organization: first and last name, physical address, email address, phone number, and amount. For the avoidance of doubt, we do not and will not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

We work closely with a number of third parties (1&1 Internet, Google, Constant Contact, and Paypal) and we may receive information from them about you. These third parties may collect information about you including, but not limited to, your IP address, device-specific information, logs, device event information and location information. In some instances, they may be acting as data controller and they will have their own privacy policies, which we advise you to read.

ITSqc relies upon an external service provider to provide web hosting. Our Service is hosted by 1&1 Internet (“1&1”). 1&1 provides us with the online web platform that allows us to provide the Service to you. Your information, including Personal Information, may be stored through 1&1's servers. By using the Service, you consent to 1&1's collection, disclosure, storage, and use of your Personal Information in accordance with 1&1's privacy policy. In order to send and receive email communications, we use a third party service provider called Google LLC (“Google”). Google provides email services for us. Google processes your email data to fulfill their contractual obligation to deliver services to us. We encourage you to read Google's privacy statement and terms and conditions of use by clicking the following links: In order to send you our newsletter and other communications, we use a third party email address management and message sending service provided by Constant Contact, Inc. (“Constant Contact”). This type of services makes it possible to manage a database of email contacts, phone contacts or any other contact information to communicate with the User. Constant Contact helps us build contact lists and prepare communications for distribution. Your name and email address may be seen and processed by Constant Contact in order for us to utilize this tool. These services may also collect data concerning the date and time when the message was viewed by the User, as well as when the User interacted with it, such as by clicking on links included in the message. ITSqc may send you newsletters and other messages about developments with our organization, to alert you about events in the community and educational opportunities, or to advise about significant happenings in the policy arena, to name just a few examples. You can always choose to stop receiving newsletters or other electronic communications from us by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of a ITSqc message.
We do not intentionally gather information from individuals who are under the age of 13. Upon notification that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete the child's personal information from our records.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits Site visitors who are California residents and who have provided us with “personal information” (as that term is defined in Section 1798.83) to request certain information about the disclosure of that information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. ITSqc does not release “personal information” to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. If we collaborate with another organization, such as IAOP, we would send messages to our contacts using ITSqc resources, rather than disclosing your “personal information” to a third party.

You should be aware that the United States and other countries have not harmonized their privacy regulations. Because ITSqc and its servers are located in the United States and our services are directed towards the United States market, our Privacy Policy has been prepared to comply with applicable United States regulations. By accessing and/or using the Site or our services and providing personal information to us through the Site, you agree to the level of privacy protection set out in this Privacy Policy.
